Traffic Impact Assessment - Fontabelle Housing Development, Westmoreland

The National Housing Trust (NHT) invites registered civil engineering firms to submit proposals to undertake a Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) to determine the effects on the existing transportation network and the secondary arterial roads by the traffic to be generated from the NHT’s proposed development of  355 housing solutions on approximately 48 hectares (118.6 acres) of land at Fontabelle in Frome, Westmoreland.

 

LOCATION

The property is located along the Savannah-la-mar / Grange Hill main road; it is approximately 8 km from the Savannah-la-mar town centre and 5 km outside of the Grange Hill community.

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The successful consultant will be required to undertake the Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) in accordance with the National Works Agency’s (NWA) guidelines for the proposed development. The assessment should take into consideration, but is not limited to:

  • Present and proposed land use
  • vehicle trip generation
  • traffic distribution
  • traffic assignment
  • intersection capacity analysis
  • mitigation measures (including any recommendation for updates to the existing entrance designs for the development)

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Consultants must provide:

  • Evidence of tax compliance
  • Evidence that the lead civil engineer and the firm are registered with the Professional Engineering Registration Board (PERB)

RETURN OF TENDERS

Proposals must be submitted online on or before Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Proposals will be opened online via the e-procurement website at https://www.gojep.gov.jm on the same day, immediately following the proposal submission deadline.

 

N.B: “The NHT reserves the right not to award a contract to any party with whom it is currently in litigation or with whom it has been previously involved in litigation”.
