The National Housing Trust (NHT) has increased the number of partner mortgage institutions through which qualified contributors can access their NHT mortgage benefits.

NHT contributors who earn more than 30,000 weekly, as well as contributors who require additional funding to their NHT loan entitlement, can now have their NHT loan processed at one of 10 partner mortgage institutions under the External Financing Mortgage Programme, EFMP. Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness on Friday, August 11, 2023, led a ground breaking exercise for Sheffield Palms, the National Housing Trust’s, NHT, newest housing development in Retreat, Westmoreland. The 113-unit housing project is being developed in collaboration with Sheffield Palms Developers Limited under the NHT's Guaranteed Purchase Programme (GPP). Upon completion, 60 of the units will be available to the NHT for its contributors.

The National Housing Trust (NHT) and Scotiabank have joined as the newest partners under the External Financing Mortgage Programme (EFMP). The partnership was recognised with a signing ceremony on Tuesday July 18, 2023, at the NHT’s Park Boulevard Corporate Office in St. Andrew.

Residents of the Ruthven Towers development and National Housing Trust, NHT staff joined efforts on Labour Day, May 23, 2023 at the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation on Trafalgar Road in St. Andrew. The group of approximately 50 volunteers participated in several activities including tilling the soil for a vegetable garden as well as giving the nursery at the facility a much needed facelift with a fresh coat of paint.
